Hello
I’m Louise and I’m here to help you see things differently
Together, we’ll build a therapeutic relationship that helps you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and create positive change at your own pace.
You might be struggling with anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationships, identity, or feeling stuck in life. I also work with autistic, ADHD, and neurodivergent clients who want support managing the pressures and expectations of everyday life.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to you — I see you as the expert in your own experiences. Therapy doesn’t have to feel overwhelming; we can explore things in a way that feels safe and manageable for you.
I have over 15 years’ experience in psychology and mental health, supporting people with a range of challenges and extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ clients, neurodivergent clients, and people living with disabilities or long-term health conditions, always taking individual access needs into account.
Sessions are 50 minutes as standard but 30-minute sessions are available on request.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I follow their ethical guidelines.
I’m currently offering remote work online or via the telephone, which allows you to work from a space that is accessible to you and at a time that works best for you.

Experience
My name is Louise and I’m an integrative counsellor. This means I use a variety of approaches to suit individual needs.
My background is in psychology. I have over 15 years’ experience working in mental health. As an assistant psychologist I worked predominantly with adults with acquired brain injuries or eating disorders.
I specialise in working with disabled or chronically ill clients, particularly those who have neurological conditions. My experience includes working with those who live with MS and MSA, along with their families.
I have been providing counselling to adults in Birmingham city centre for over seven years and love to support clients to grow. I have supported clients with a range of issues including: self-esteem, body image, depression and anxiety. I’m an LGBTQ+ ally and have worked with clients who want to discuss sexuality and relationships. I’m also a disability-affirmative therapist and I work to the social model of disability.
I am the counsellor at a local college supporting students aged 16-19
I am also a mental health trainer delivering sessions to teachers, school staff and other youth professionals, as well as the young people they work with.

FEEDBACK
I immediately felt a sense of safety and nurturing in sessions with Louise. She equipped me with transformative tools that proved invaluable whenever I found myself slipping back into negative self-talk patterns. She skillfully guided me in reframing feelings of guilt and prompted me to explore the origins of my perfectionist tendencies.
One of the aspects I truly valued about Louise's approach was her consistent emphasis on self-compassion. In moments of frustration, Louise encouraged me to extend kindness towards myself. She acknowledged that progress and healing aren't always linear.
Louise's guidance has had a profound impact on my life, helping me start to break free from detrimental patterns and fostering genuine personal growth as well as deepening my relationships. Her thoughtful guidance and unwavering support have truly been instrumental in my journey towards self-discovery and positive change.
